6.-(1) Where a person ceases on the relevant date by
virtue of Article 3
to be a British Dependent Territories
citizen or a British National (Overseas) and would, but for this
paragraph, thereby be rendered stateless, then he shall be a
British Overseas citizen.
(2) Where a person born on or after the relevant date
would, but for this paragraph, be born stateless, then, if at
the time of the birth his father or mother is a British National
(Overseas) or a British Overseas citizen by virtue of paragraph (1)
above, he shall be a British Overseas citizen.
(3) A person who is a British Overseas citizen by virtue
of paragraph (1) or (2) above shall cease to be such a citizen
if, in whatever circumstances and whether under the British
Nationality Act 1981 or otherwise, he acquires any other
citizenship or nationality whatever.
7.- (1) The following provisions of the British Nationality
Act 1981 shall apply for the purposes of this Order as they apply
for the purposes of that Act, namely
(a)
(b)
section 41 (regulations and Orders in Council), SO
far as it relates to the making of regulations,
but as if in subsection (1)(i) for the words from
"deaths of" to "born" there were substituted the
words "British Nationals (Overseas)";
section 42 (registration and naturalisation: general
provisions), so far as it relates to registration,
but as if
(i) in subsections (1) and (3), for the words
"citizen of any description or as a
