12. HK has the right to recruit both HK residents and non-residents into the
civil service;
13. The nationality of HK people and their residency should be defined by laws;
14. HK citizenship should be given to those people who are legal residents here
before July 1, 1997 and to those who are qualified under the SAR laws
after that date;
15. All HK citizens should be able to enjoy rights as prescribed in the basic law;
16. All HK citizens are equal in front of the law;
17. All HK citizens, except those who were condemned prisoners, have the right
to live;
18. Torture and vigilante groups are not allowed;
19. Freedom of religion and thinking;
20. Freedom of speech and publication;
21. Freedom of assembly, forming unions, staging demonstrations and going on
strike;
22. Right to vote and to be elected;
23. Freedom to travel in and out of HK freely;
24. Freedom to choose an abode;
25. Freedom to communicate;
26. Habeas corpus for all HK citizens:
27. A speedy and fair trial for all those who are detained by the authorities;
28. All defendants are innoncent before mey are convicted;
29. Court proceedings against any individuals, organisations or even the Governmen1
should be handled in a fair manner
30. Right to choose a profession and right to conduct economic activities freely;
31. Right to own and accumulate asset!
