Documents on British Foreign Policy 1919-1939

Second Series, Volume XXI

This is the concluding volume in Series II of these documents.

It follows on from Volume XX, published in April this year, which

dealt with British Far Eastern policy from 1933 to 1936. The

present volume covers Far Eastern developments in the period down to

July 1938, and thus links up with the volumes on the Far East in

1938-9 already published in Series III.

H.M. Stationery Office have suggested 21 December as the date

for publication of Volume XXI, and we would propose to inform them that this arrangement will be acceptable.

I enclose a copy of the explanatory minute about the volume

which was sent to Miss Blayney on 11 May 1984 with the page proofs,

and which describes the contents of this volume in more detail.

The News Department will be informed of the date of publication and

given some points which may be of interest to the press.
