Mr Spalding will also be documented Special Courier in charge of a consignment of classified material.
b) A security brief is attached for members of the party
only. It should not be taken abroad.
c) London office security passes should not be taken abroad.
d) Embassies/Government House will operate a safe-hand
service between the communications centres in Chanceries and the Private Office at regular intervals during the day and at night as requested. A suite of safe-hand boxes will be brought out on the RAF VC10.
e) The Private Offices will be guarded at night by the Royal
Military Police.
f) There will be a lock-up cupboard in each of the Private
Offices.
g) The appropriate Security Department instructions should
be followed in connection wiith typewriters and typewriter ribbons.
12. TRANSPORT
This is being handled by each post as necessary. Transport will be provided by the host Government/Embassy concerned. Transport, if required, for safe-hand runs wil be provided by the post.
Posts have been asked to provide in advance a car allocation for airport arrivals so that the party on the aircraft are aware of the arrangements before landing. Full details of all transport arrangements will be available with the local administrative arrangements.
13. NEWSPAPERS AND COI BULLETINS
a) Conference and Visits Section have arranged with the
Newspapers and Publishers Association for supplies of British newspapers to be sent to the party during the course of the tour.
b) The COI Press Summary will be telexed each day of the
tour to the posts concerned.
14. PRESS
a) A suite has been reserved in hotels in each city to be
visited during the tour to enable the Head of News Department to give informal press briefings.
