SECRETARY OF STATE'S VISIT TO THE FAR EAST

I appreciate the need for telegrams and papers relating to the future of Hong Kong to be distributed on a restricted basis but would urgently request that where they relate to the programme, administrative arrangements and travel for the Secretary of State's visit, Protocol Department is on the distribution. Failure to keep us up to date with latest developments on timings and movements can for example cause considerable extra work for the RAF who are already having to make elaborate rearrangements in their VC10 Fleet following the recent extension to the Secretary of State's tour.
