from China, persons from China resident in Macau who were not settled in Macau by 14 January 1979, persons from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and UK belongers)

Permission to enter Hong Kong may be granted

provided that

:-

there is no security objection and no known record of serious crime; and

there is no likelihood of the person becoming a burden on Hong Kong; and

the person possesses a special skill, knowledge or experience of value to and not readily available in Hong Kong; or

is in a position to make a substantial contribution to the economy of Hong Kong.
