ANALYSIS
DEEP BAY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
2.1
2.2
2.3
2.4
The preliminary analysis was undertaken under the following headings.
1) Civil Aviation Requirements
2) Meteorological Conditions
3) Engineering Considerations 4) Noise Exposure
5) Height Restrictions
6) Ground Access
The preferred location are checked and conform to each of the above criteria.
Aviation Considerations
•
A large area of land 15 kilometers long on the axis of the runways from the airport boundary should be free of high terrain and man-made structures.
An international airport with two parallel runways 1500 meters apart and no constraint on runway length, capable of serving long term projected aircraft movements for the Hong Kong and Guangdong Province Sub-region.
Capable of 24 hour operation.
Assuming that there is no commitment of the Deep Bay airspace area to military use, it appears that no terminal area airspace problem is associated with the proposed site.
Approach and departure tracks feasible within International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) International standards.
Meteorological Conditions
•
Preliminary analysis indicates no exceptional local weather factors.
Runway alignment SW-NE along axis of prevailing winds as required for airport operations.
