as may be required".

In connexion with the submission of credentials of represent-

atives, your attention is drawn to rule 3 of the provisional rules

of procedure of the Assembly, which states "The credentials of

representatives and the names of alternate representatives and

advisers shall be submitted to the Secretary-General of the World

Assembly, if possible not less than one week before the date

fixed for the opening of the World Assembly. The credentials

shall be issued either by the Head of the State or Government

or by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.".

In order to facilitate registration procedures at the

Assembly it would be appreciated if the attached form giving the

composition of your Government's delegation were forwarded to

the Secretariat at United Nations Headquarters (room 2977E),

as soon as possible.

Registration of delegations at the Assembly site itself will

begin on Thursday, 22 July 1982, at 9.00 a.m. The registration

desk will be open from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. including the

weekend of pre-Assembly consultations.

General debate

The list of speakers for the general debate was opened at

United Nations Headquarters at 10.00 a.m. on 19 May 1982, in

accordance with decision 2 (II) of the Advisory Committee.

Committee decided (decision 5 (III)) to recommend to the Assembly,

that the list be closed at Vienna on Wednesday, 28 July, at noon.

Delegations which have not already done so and which wish

to participate in the debate are invited to inscribe their names at United Nations Headquarters, New York, with Ms. Jeanne Condevaux (room 2963D), in person, or by telephone (754-5731).
