I have the honour to refer to the Secretary-General's
letter of 3 May 1982, addressed to the Minister for Foreign
Affairs, inviting your Excellency's Government to participate
in the World Assembly on Aging to be held at Vienna from
26 July to 6 August 1982.

The purpose of this letter is to advise your Government
of recommendations and decisions made by the Advisory Committee
for the World Assembly at its third session and to inform you
of certain arrangements that are being made by the Secretariat
in connexion with the Assembly.

The provisional agenda for the Assembly, as revised and
approved by the Advisory Committee at its third session (annex I,
attached), will be circulated shortly, with annotations, as
document A/CONF.113/1. The provisional rules of procedure of the
Assembly will be circulated as document A/CONF.113/2.
Opening of the Assembly
The first meeting of the World Assembly will be convened at
the Hofburg Congress Centre on Monday, 26 July at 11.00 a.m.
Credentials and registration
Rule 1 of the provisional rules of procedure stipulates that
"Each State participating in the World Assembly shall be represented
by a head of delegation and no more than five other accredited
