Notes: (1) The 1978 White Paper on the Development of Senior Secondary and Tertiary

Education stated that the target provision for L/H VI places is 1/3 of subsidised Form IV places provided 2 years previously.

(2)

These figures reflect school places arising from projects for which financial approval hes been received. These include Stages I-IV of the School Building Programme. Provision in the approved post-secondary colleges which have joined the government assistance scheme in providing subsidised Form VI places is also included.

(3) Most Six-form courses in Anglo-Chinese schools are a two-year course

preparing for the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination, while the majority in Chinese Middle Schools are a one-year course preparing for the Hong Kong Higher Level Examination. The target provision for Lover Middle VI and Upper Form VI therefore could not be realistically assessed.
