1. Please refer to Miss Maxwell's letter of 8 June 1981 about the extension of the Protection of Trading Interests Act to Hong Kong.

2. I attach a copy of a letter I have received from the Economic Services Branch in Hong Kong. They have confirmed that the Hong Kong Government does not wish the Act to be extended to Hong Kong at the present time.
