be coming to the armoury to draw a revolver which he needed for duty. At 0600 hrs the deceased came to the armoury and drew Revolver No. 4894 and six rounds of ammunition, after the Armoury PC 8830 had ascertained that the deceased had no personal issue revolver. The deceased signed the register at 0500 hrs instead of 0600 hrs and also put his signature in the wrong space. This was pointed out by PC 8830 and the deceased corrected the time and was about to put his signature in the correct column when PC 8830 said "That's alright". The deceased then walked away in the direction of the soft drinks counter with the revolver and ammunition.

He will state that the deceased spoke clearly and normally and that he noticed nothing unusual about his manner or behaviour.

Miss Sandra Hills, an Occupational Therapist lives at Flat 6103, Homantin Hill Service Qtrs and will state that she was an acquaintance of the deceased and she knew that he lived in the same block of flats as she did.

In the early morning of 15.1.80 she woke up in bed with a start. Immediately she awoke she heard a sharp bang. This bang was followed by further bangs similar to the first bang but she cannot say how many there were. She will state that she thought the noise was like someone trying to close a window but it could have been gunshots. She cannot say where the noise came from but may have come from the 4th floor. She looked at her clock and saw the time was six something. After she heard the bangs she went to sleep again and woke up at 0700 hrs when her alarm clock woke her up. She will further state that she did not hear the sound of anyone talking or arguing at the time she heard the sharp bangs.

Mr. Colon Shaw, a Police Inspector will state that he lives in Flat 409B at Homantin Hill Govt Service Flats next door to the deceased. He returned to his flat at 0045 hrs on 15.1.80 and went to sleep at about 0130 hrs waking up at 0704 hrs when he answered the telephone. He then went back to sleep until 1045 hrs when he was woken up by Mr. Trotman and Mr. Quinn. Between 0045 hrs and 1045 hrs he heard nothing at all from the flat of the deceased. He will state that he has not talked to the deceased since January 5th apart from greeting him once or twice in the vicinity of the Service flats.

Mr. Wong Sau-tsang is a watchman at the Government Service Flats at Homantin Hill Rd. He will state that he was on duty from 2300 hrs on 14.1.80 to 0700 hrs on 15.1.80. He patrolled the corridors of Blocks A and B every 2 hours and the carpark every hour during that shift. When he was not patrolling he sat in the watchman's office near the main entrance to the Service Flats. He will state that at no time during his patrols or when he was in the office did he see or hear anything unusual, especially during his patrol from 0600 - 0630 hrs.
