On arrival he contacted the Manageress Mrs. Janette Gafoor, showed her a search warrant and requested that she try to open the door with a master key. She agreed and they went to the flat but Mrs. Gafoor was unable to open the door as it was bolted from the inside. It was then decided to force the door open. Eventually the door was forced open after 25 minutes. He will state that he was the first to enter and that the premises was in complete darkness. He switched on the lights and discovered that the front door had been bolted from the inside. He also noted that the bedroom door was also locked from the inside. He gave instructions for the bedroom door to be forced open and whilst that was being done he searched the bathroom and lounge. On a table in the lounge he found a note written in English "Please, Please, tell my family it was an accident and that I was a good Policeman."
The note was dated 15.1.80.
