Purpose
To review the present Home- Ownership Schemes and to make... recommendations on how they may be improved in. order to provide more flats-for- the income classes covered by them.
To provide rented public housing in rural areas.
To provide housing for families with household incomes
in excess of
$6,500 per month.
Progress Made & Present Position
The Working Party met on five occasions to discuss the various aspects-per- taining to the HOS, e.g. affordability of the target group, land availability- and mortgage finance, étc.
The Hong Kong Housing Society proceeded with planning for the construction of the Tui Min Hoi estate at Sai Kung.
Tenders for the Tuen Mun project were assessed and the project was awarded to the highest tenderer, Gold Queen Ltd., at a premium of $303.3 million.
Next Quarter Target
To continue fortnightly
meetings and to finalise the report.
To prepare submission to Finance Committee for the allocation of funds for this project.
(a) To monitor progress
regarding this project.
(b) To arrange for the
site at Chai Wan Hill to be
developed and to identify further sites.
