(iv) holders of a valid Seamen's Certificate of Nationality and Identity denoting the holder's British nationality issued by the authority of one of the territories listed in Annex “A”:
shall be free to travel from any place whatever to Switzerland without 1 the necessity of obtaining a visa in advance. Children under 16 years 1'. of age whose names are included in the British passport of one or other of their parents and are travelling in the company of that parent shall not require an individual document.
(d) The Swiss Government undertake to accept the British Visitor's
Passport as a valid British passport.
(e) The possession of a valid Swiss or British seamen's identity document shall not entitle the holder to travel to the United Kingdom or any of the territories specified in sub-paragraph (b) above, or Switzerland respectively, unless he is able to satisfy the competent authorities, if necessary by means of documentary evidence, that he is requesting entry for one of the following purposes:
(i) temporary shore leave while the ship in which he is serving is in
port; or
(ii) joining his ship or transferring to another ship; or
(iii) passing in transit to join his ship in another country or for
repatriation.
(i) The waiver of the visa requirement shall not exempt holders of Bewed many of the documents specified in sub-paragraph (a) above ni proceeding to the United Kingdom or to any territory named in vilinch .Annex A" to this Note, or holders of any of the documents specified in sub-paragraph (c) above proceeding to Switzerland, from the necessity of complying with the laws and regulations of the United Kingdom or of the territories listed in Annex “A” to this Note, or of Switzerland respectively relating to the entry, residence (temporary or permanent) and occupation or employ- ment of foreigners. Travellers who are unable to satisfy the competent authorities that they comply with these laws and regulations may be refused leave to enter or to land. (ii) British subjects and British protected persons who wish to proceed to Switzerland to take up employment are required to obtain in advance through the competent Swiss diplomatic or consular representative, or through their future employer, an "Assurance de l'octroi d'une autorisation de séjour" stating that they will be authorised to take up employment in Switzerland.

(g) The competent authorities of Switzerland and of the United Kingdom A reserve the right to refuse and of the territories listed in Annex leave to enter or stay in their territory to any person who is considered undesirable by those authorities or is otherwise ineligible under the policy of the respective Governments relating to the entry and stay of aliens.
