HONG KONG

GREEN PAPER ON BRITISH NATIONALITY LAW

Thank you for your letter of 11 May.

3 As you will realise, there is not much I can usefully tell you about the new Government's intentions in the field of Nationality Law. But the Home Office believe that they will wish to proceed on the basis of the 1977 Green Paper, and I have been invited to attend a meeting next week to concert F60 views. I will keep you informed of developments. In the meantime you can rely on me to press the Hong Kong case.
