NATIONALITY LAW REVIEW: BRITISH OVERSEAS CITIZENSHIP

1. In my minue of 29 March I suggested that we should have a meeting of all departments interested in Colonial matters in order to discuss the Home Office draft paper on British Overseas Citizenship. You will have seen a minute of 5 April by Mr McLaren (HKGD) commenting upon this.

2. In view of the fact that Mr McLaren is visiting Hong Kong within a few days I have decided to postpone my meeting until after his return. Meanwhile, he and I have met together and discussed the proposals as they affect Hong Kong and I have written to Mr Lee of the Home Office enclosing Mr McLaren's re-draft of paragraph 8(b) of the Home Office memorandum.
