The Government did not adopt the revised salary (1445-775) proposed by the 1965 Salaries Commission. In fact, that Shorthand/audio Typists were underpaid with the Government proposed scale ($420-#765).

1966 Salary scales: The Government re-evaluated the Shorthand/Audio Typist grade and revised the salary by increasing the maximum point from Point 16(780) to Point 17 (830) which was equivalent to the Clerical Officer I entry point (female). The aforementioned re-arrangement proved that the Government fully recognised the importance of Shorthand/Audio Typists, and
However, the Shorthand/Audio this practice has not been changed for years.
The introduction of
Typists were classified from sclae 'C' to special scale. Special Scale is being regarded as a trap which conformed with no 'equal pay' implemented in 1971. as the result, the Shorthand/Audio Typist grade had not benefited from the above adjustments and in fact, suffered from the 'Figure Game' displayed by the Government.
