area and a set of photographs of the existing
buildings.

The Committee has also had the benefit
of professional advice from the Director of
Agriculture and Fisheries on the species of trees
and their locations within the planning area. A
plan showing the locations of these trees and wooded
hillslopes is at Annex 3.
Planning Area

The Victoria Barracks area comprises
about 16.8 hectares (41.5 acres) and is bounded by
Queensway to the north, Cotton Tree Drive to the
west, Monmouth Terrace to the east and Kennedy Road
to the south. The area is east of the present
Central Government Offices and immediately south
of the Mass Transit Railway Admiralty Station area
to the north of Queensway. Of the 16.8 hectares
(41.5 acres), about 9.5 hectares (23.5 acres) are
building sites occupied mostly by low-rise buildings,
formed sports and parade grounds, roads and foot-
