Of course we appreciate the problems of deeling with visa applications with only two UK based officers. However, we hope further consideration could be given to the arrangements. If it could be agreed that the four posts could continue to deal with Hong Kong visa applications, we would, of course, accept that the two UK based officers would be unable to give the same level of attention to our visa work as is usual at posts with larger staffs. You may wish to discuss this with Ron Bridge when he calls you on 19 July.
