Guidelines for dealing with requests for land and other facilities from Chinese-

owned and Chinese-supported agencies

Background

There has recently been an increase in

the number of requests for assistance in respect

of land and other facilities made to Hong Kong

Government by Chinese-owned and Chinese-supported

agencies in connection with the Chinese policy to

expand trade and tourism and investment in real

estate and commerce in Hong Kong. It is expected

that there will be many more in the future, and for

this reason it is necessary to define the basic

guidelines for dealing with these approaches.

2.

The following are examples of the kind
