Guidelines for dealing with requests for land and other facilities from Chinese-
owned and Chinese-supported agencies
Background
There has recently been an increase in
the number of requests for assistance in respect
of land and other facilities made to Hong Kong
Government by Chinese-owned and Chinese-supported
agencies in connection with the Chinese policy to
expand trade and tourism and investment in real
estate and commerce in Hong Kong. It is expected
that there will be many more in the future, and for
this reason it is necessary to define the basic
guidelines for dealing with these approaches.

The following are examples of the kind
of requests which have been made or may be expected :
(a) waterfront land for cargo handling and
godowns;
(b) godown facilities on the railway;
(c) (from distributing agencies) outlets
for oil sales;
(a) private treaty grants for commercial
purposes, including hotels;
(e) facilities in the airport;
