Dear Ms Farell,
nearly a year ago I already wrote to your office, claiming for some informations concerning the change of responsibilty for stamp issues in some Crown colonies.(letter of 4.4.77) please, see tha's letter once more!
You answered me in general(2.6.77)- but this wasn't sufficient for
me.
Therefore I tried to find out myself what I wanted to know, but I
was not so successfull as I had hoped.
Now I dare to write to you once more asking for some special infor-
mations which you perhaps can get from other people I do not know. What I know to-day:
1 The Belize-Government (Postal Administration) answered my question
concerning that since the "Self-Government/Ministerial Government" 1964 there exists a fully postal independence (except the courtesey-ask to the Court concerning the Royal Cipher or portrait). That clears the matter for all former colonies who got this sort of government, that means a minister responsible for postal and other similar af-
fairs.
2 The Montserrat Postal Adiministration answered that they are fully
independent (as Belize) in issuing stamps, but they man writing was
not able to tell since when!
3 The Crown Agents
:"We regret that it is not possible from our
resources to give exact dates of the transfer of governmental powers for every country for whom we act. .. The countries you list are all in some degree dependent upon the UK Government in the formulation of foreign policy which covers the issue of postage stamps; the degree of UK Government control varying in degrees depending upon many factors to which we are not privy."
Now you see why I am coming back to you again!
