LEAVE IN 1979
I shall have been back at post for a year on 16th November and should like to clear in advance when I should next take a short spell of leave in United Kingdom.
2.
My preference would be to take this from mid February to the end of March as this is a slack time of the year and would get me back for the opening of the first meeting of the Assembly in April. If I leave it till afterwards the Queen's Birthday is a complication and it would make sense to return for approximately nine months before my successor takes over rather than for a shorter period.
3.
It would help with programming at this end if this could be cleared in principle, and subject to exigencies. I shall supply you nearer the time with travel details, contact addresses, and when I shall be in United Kingdom. of my leave could be spent in Canada, Scotland and France but I shall allow at least a fortnight within which I should be available for any discussions which may be appropriate.
