You may be interested to see Mr Jasper's minute of 23 February in which he advances the idea that your PA and another PA, possibly that of the Head of FED, might share Room K 248 in order to produce a saving if and when HKGD is constituted. I attach Mr Levoir's minute of 16 February and a copy of mine of 17 February to ASD, to both of which Mr Jasper refers in his minute. Subject to your views, I think that Mr Jasper's idea may be a possible starter. course, the Head of the other department whose PA would be involved would have to be consulted. I do not, however, propose to pursue this idea with ASD until I receive a reaction to my minute of 17 February. G & GD tell me that they still have no news of a ministerial response to the PUS's minute of 27 January advising of the intention to merge the Gibraltar Section with SED. Clearly, the target date of 1 March for this change and the consequential transfer of the remaining parts of GGD to HKD is going to slip.
