ACCOMMODATION FOR HONG KONG AND GENERAL DEPARTMENT

1. At my request Mr Harrington and Mr Reason of Accommodation Planning Unit, ASD, brought over floor plans of this wing this morning and we discussed matters regarding the consolidation of departmental accommodation when Administrative, Legal and Judicial Staffing Unit and General Section join Hong Kong Department.

2. Mr Harrington mentioned that there are accommodation problems at present with all departments on this floor of this wing, including HKD, SWPD, FED, LAD, NAD and PDTD, and ASD are unable to propose any definite arrangement until space is released by GGD when Gibraltar Section moves to another department.

3. We discussed on an exploratory basis the requirements as I see them for the enlarged department with the object of my putting forward to you possible solutions.
