6. Mr Harrington's proposals as listed in the above paragraph would help to consolidate the rooms of the enlarged department and in particular Mr Duffy, Mrs Gregory and Mr Hall will all have individual rooms.
Mr Duffy's room would be adjacent to his Section. The Staffing Section would at last be able to integrate their registry which they have been unable to do so earlier due to space difficulties and this has caused considerable problems in handling their work. Hong Kong's Section Clerks would share with PDTD's registry but if this presented crowding problems Mr Harrington thought that PDTD might agree to integrate at least one of their Section Clerks.

Due to the pressures by various departments for the limited accommodation in this area I fear that it is unlikely that the perfect solution will be found and no doubt once again many of us will have to be put to inconvenience but at least the above proposals will be useful to form a basis for
He has said consideration of what you will wish to put to Mr Harrington. that he is very ready to call on you with the plans if necessary to discuss the proposals further.

Of course any move hinges on approval being given to the submission which PPD sent forward to PUS/Minister of State/Secretary of State proposing that Gibraltar Section should join another department. approval is not given, or is deferred, there seems little likelihood of any accommodation changes being possible according to Mr Harrington.
