76. On 28th February, 1976, American male Joshua Wilson FENWICK was searched by Preven- tive Service officers on his arrival at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok. FENWICK was found to be carrying 2 cardboard cartons containing a total of 11.374 kilogrammes of cannabis. He was charged with Trafficking In A Dangerous Drug and sentenced to 31⁄2 years' imprisonment.

77. On 7th March, 1976, Preventive Service officers searched the baggage of Swiss male Hans Peter ALBRECHT on his arrival at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok. The false bottom of his suitcase revealed packets containing a total of 1.796 kilogrammes of cannabis. ALBRECHT was charged with Trafficking In A Dangerous Drug and fined HK$2,000.

78. On 2nd April, 1976, at Hong Kong Airport Baggage Reclaim Hall, 2 unclaimed suitcases were presented to Preventive Service officers by airline staff for examination. The suitcases were found to contain 9.33 kilogrammes of cannabis and 110.7 grammes of a mixture containing 97.1 grammes of salts of esters of morphine (No. 4 heroin). No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

79. On 8th April, 1976, American male Norman David MAYER arrived at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok. When his baggage was examined by Preventive Service officers, 55 packets con- taining 2.8068 kilogrammes of cannabis were found concealed in his travelling bag and in a false compartment of his suitcase. Investigation led to the seizure of another 15.529 kilogrammes of cannabis inside a case of 'hand carved pictures' which had arrived by the same flight. MAYER was charged with Trafficking In A Dangerous Drug. He is awaiting trial.
