On 19th February, 1976, Thai male VICHA Sae Lim was searched by Preventive Service officers on his arrival at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok, resulting in the discovery of 950.5 grammes of a mixture containing 789.1 grammes of a salt of morphine concealed in the soles of his shoes. VICHA was arrested and charged with Trafficking In A Dangerous Drug and sentenced to 7 years' imprisonment.

33. On 21st February, 1976, Preventive Service officers searched Chinese female WONG Fung-yee (7806/7685/0308) on her arrival at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok, resulting in the discovery of morphine in block form tied around her waist and calves. The drug comprised 2.373 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 1.9559 kilogrammes of a salt of morphine. WONG was charged with Trafficking In A Dangerous Drug and sentenced to 5 years' imprisonment.

34. On 21st February, 1976, Preventive Service officers searched five Thai males following their arrival at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok. Each of the men was found to have morphine concealed inside the soles of his shoes, the total seizure comprising 6.0278 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 4.8476 kilogrammes of a salt of morphine. Taskung SAATAN, Sae Lim PARSART, Sunti SAE WONG, Sophon CHANTATEYANONT and Chookieat KATHONG were arrested and charged with Trafficking In A Dangerous Drug. The case is pending trial.

35. On 7th March, 1976, Preventive Service officers searched the baggage of Thai female Sae Lee MUAKEA on her arrival at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok. Examination of an ice bucket which she was carrying resulted in the discovery of 2.155 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 1.6627 kilogrammes of a salt of morphine, and 109.1 grammes of a mixture containing 87.7 grammes of salts of esters of morphine (No. 4 heroin). MUAKEA was arrested and charged with Trafficking In A Dangerous Drug. She was sentenced to 6 years' imprisonment.
Morphine and heroin were concealed inside an ice bucket which MUAKEA
was carrying.
