36. On 18th March, 1976, Chinese male CHENG Chui-ming (6774/1776/2494) arrived at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok. A search of his baggage by Preventive Service officers resulted in the discovery of 6 coconuts containing a total of 4.746 kilogrammes of prepared opium. CHENG was charged with Trafficking In A Dangerous Drug and sentenced to 5 years' imprisonment.

37. On 28th March, 1976, an Asian passenger arriving at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok abandoned a suitcase and 6 ‘dried shredded pork' tins and ran out of the Arrivals Hall. On examina- tion by Preventive Service officers the tins were found to contain a total of 1.0307 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 892.6 grammes of a salt of morphine. The Asian is still at large.

38. On 1st April, 1976, Preventive Service officers searched the baggage of Chinese male CHEUNG Sau-chi (1728/1108/5347) on his arrival at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok. Inside the seats of 6 folding chairs and in 2 ‘dried shredded pork' packets the officers discovered a total of 4.7919 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 2.4559 kilogrammes of esters of morphine. CHEUNG was arrested and charged with Trafficking In A Dangerous Drug. He is awaiting trial.
