Question allowed.

Sometimes I would give

names of the persons who telephoned. What I do depends on the instructions I received on telephone. Mr. Hampton objects: What

did you do as a result of these instructions?

It was so long ago that I cannot remember.

information to others and sometimes I would send for others to come.

Sometimes I went to the stalls in order to give them information.

Mr. Hampton objects to question answer as being hearsay.

Mr. Sceats: My understanding of hearsay rule is witness is not

permitted to tell Court what 3rd person said to him. I am only asking witness what he said.] Question allowed Sometimes I

told them to quit the stall. I have been there to give this

information many times, more times than I can remember, I worked

for Ma Hak Shing in Causeway Bay for year. Later he left and

we also left and the business was closed. Hung Chai and the

others also left. The flat in Hung Fook Building was handed over to the successor. The name of the person who took over flat was called Tai Ngan Chai. During period that I and Hung Chai stayed alternately in flat in lung Fook Building there was a person called

Lam who followed the predecessor and he stayed there for a month. It seems to me he was working as a supervisor of a gambling stall. He was working at Uncle Ming's stall, that is, Chan Ming. During period when I collected money from stall, the people in the stalls generally called me Tai Kau Lau. I received renumeration of $2,000

per month for my work. I was paid from Cheng Pak of lia Hak Shing.

I was not present when Cheng Pak paid other persons. I handed all

money I collected to Luk Shuk at Hung Fook Building. I handed in all about $8,000 per day. The stalls I collected money from were in the North Point area. Hung Chai collected from stalls in

Shaukiwan.

Court adjourned 15 minutes.
