Dear Mr. Roney

HONG KONG PROJECT

To confirm our telephone conversation today, Alastair Macdonald has advised from Hong Kong that in the light of discussions with Kadoorie it is clear that no purpose would be served by company representatives joining Mr Lippitt's team on the proposed visit to Hong Kong next week. This is because China Light and Fower are looking for further discussions with HMG before they are prepared to talk to individual companies.

Nevertheless Mr Macdonald has confirmed that a meeting next week would be useful, so the meeting arranged for Monday 20 June at the slightly later time of 4.30 pm still stands. I understand from other companies that this time will be convenient for them. As before the meeting will take place in Room 839 at 1 Victoria Street.

I am copying this letter to the recipients of Mr Macdonald's letter of 9 June addressed to Mr Odell, as well as to

Mr Peter Simpkin (Weir Group) and Mr Gordon Keast (Boving) who will be attending the meeting on Monday.

Yours smicerely

LeterMoulton.
