We have now heard that the Department of Industry will not be required to give evidence at the Wilson Committee meeting on 28 June. This would leave Mr Lippitt free to put back the proposed visit to Hong Kong next week if, in the light of Mr Macdonald's preliminary discussions in Hong Kong, this was seen as desirable. Mr Macdonald is due back in the office on Friday.
