Information on major Government projects likely to go to tender
In addition to the material (e.g. the Estimates, reports of the Public Works Sub-Committee of Finance Committee, and the Public Works Department quarterly reports) with which the Government already provides the Trade Commission, the Public Works Department will send the Commission copies of their 6 monthly lists of contracts likely to be let in the coming half year.
This material taken together, should give the
Commission adequate information on the equipment deriving from the Public works Programme likely to be tendered for in the near future. Looking further ahead, the material should also provide an adequate pointer to enable the Senior British Trade Commissioner
to isolate the areas likely to be of interest to
British suppliers over the next two to three years.
For further information, he will then contact the
Technical Secretary, Public Works Department, who will arrange visits to these areas and briefings on them. -
The Director of Government Supplies will also endeavour (to the extent that departments provide him with adequate information) to provide the Trade
Commission in about March each year with a list of the equipment valued at over $200,000 implied in the draft Estimates and likely to be ordered through the Supplies
and other Departments.
