32. During the night of 30th August 1974, following a period of surveillance, officers of the Narcotics Bureau arrested Chinese male NGAI Chung-hon (0242/2646/3352) outside number 177, Tung Choi Street, Kowloon. NGAI was carrying a quantity of No. 3 heroin in a shopping bag. He was immediately escorted to his flat in Bute Street where a further quantity of No. 3 heroin was dis- covered. The total seizure comprised 2.181 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 0.9574 kilogramme of salts of esters of morphine. NGAI was charged with two counts of Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking and was sentenced to 5 years' imprisonment.

33. On the morning of 17th September 1974, officers of the Narcotics Bureau intercepted Chiu Chau male CHAN Chuen (7115/3123) as he was about to enter a private car outside number 4, Soares Avenue, Kowloon. The car was searched, and a quantity of No. 3 heroin contained in seven packages was found concealed in various parts of the vehicle. The drugs comprised 9.8167 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 3.5784 kilogrammes of salts of esters of morphine. CHAN was charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. The case is pending.

34. On 6th November 1974, acting on information, officers of the Preventive Service intercepted and searched Chinese male CHEUK Jim (0587/0394) at Kwai Chung, New Territories. Inside a plastic bag he was carrying, 3,150 packets comprising 1.0228 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 0.3677 kilogramme of salts of esters of morphine were found. CHEUK was arrested and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. The case is pending.
