35. On the evening of 17th November 1974, acting on information, officers of the Narcotics Bureau carried out a search in the Ha Mei Wan area of Lamma Island. Two man-made holes were found on the hillside about 30 yards from the beach, from which a total of 10 gunny sacks containing 326.007 kilogrammes of raw opium were recovered. Charges in connection with the seizure have been made against persons in custody as a result of the operation against NG Sik-ho's syndicate (see paragraphs 40-42).

36. On the evening of 10th December 1974, acting on information, officers of the Narcotics Bureau carried out a search in the area of Ha Mei Kok, Lamma Island. Concealed in a hole dug into the hillside one sack of raw opium was located. A further search was carried out the following day with the aid of an opium locating dog, and a further sack of raw opium was found. The total seizure comparised 41,6 kilogrammes of raw opium. No arrest was made.

37. On the morning of 12th December 1974, acting no information officers of the Narcotics Bureau with the assistance of the Marine Police and Royal Navy Divers carried out a search in the Taithong Channel, close to Tung Lung Island. Five
Five gunny sacks containing a total of 165.8 kilo- grammes of raw opium were recovered from the seabed.
No arrest was made.

38. On 26th November 1974, acting on information, officers of the Preventive Service searched Chinese male Siu Chi-keung (5618/5267/1730) at the entrance to a restaurant in Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon. Inside a plastic bag which he was carrying 1.882 kilogrammes of cannabis resin was found. Siu claimed the cannabis had been given to him by Chinese male LEE See-wai (2621/1835/0251) who was later arrested inside the restaurant. Siu and LEE were charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. The case is pending.
