A. GENERAL INFORMATION
The Prisoner, LUI Kam-shing @ LUI Chung-yuen, was born in Hong Kong on 25th October, 1951 with birth certificate No. 17562/51 K and identity card No. E412396. He was brought up in a relatively large family with stable financial condition. His father has been a sub-contractor in decoration works for many years. Before the present economic recession the father used to earn an irregular income from #1,000 to $1,500 a month. At present the father only earns a few hundred dollars a month. The mother, formerly a cleaning worker at restaurants, is now unemployed.
The Prisoner is the 3rd child in the family of 5 children. His elder brother and sister were both married and are living separately. He left school of his own accord in 1967 and came out to work, most of the time during the past several years. He was able to take money home every month when employed. Like other normal youths, he liked swimming, cinema-going and sometimes mahjong games. He was considered an obedient son on good relationship with folks at home. It was also noted that he seldom made any trouble or had dispute with his neigh- bours.
The Prisoner was found very much attached to his family. He seldom stayed outside though sometimes he would go out in the evening and to return home late. However, the parents had no idea how he behaved or with whom he had associated outside. On the whole, he proved to be a helping hand to his parents.
B. FAMILY COMPOSITION
Father: LUI Leung, 67, a sub-contractor in decoration
works.
Mother: LING Yee, 58, a housewife, formerly a cleaning
worker in restaurant.
Brother: LUI Kam-kau, 25, an assistant revenue officer,
married and resides at the staff quarters of Preventive Service, Commerce & Industrý Department, Ko Shan Road, Hung Hom.
Sisters: LUI Ngan-kiu, 27, married and resides at No. 230,
Block 1, 2/F, Low Cost Housing Estate, Kai Chiu Road.
LUI Sau-har, 20, a student nurse in England.
LUI Sau-king, 18, a factory hand at $15. p.d. but not fully employed due to depression.
Sister-in-law: CHOI So-chi, 21, a housewife.
