time for such families to return to UK is July/August, and

the second choice is December.

Accommodation in the UK may present some problems

but is not expected to be a limiting factor, except possibly

for the battalion withdrawn from Singapore.

Disposal of Assets

8. Equipment and real estate will be dipposed of in accordance

with accepted policy (8).

Defence Relations

9. Local commanders should recommend to MODUK any way of

assisting local forces to alleviate the effects of the

withdrawal.

Intelligence or Communications

10. The withdrawal of intelligence facilities and communications

is subject to the same principles as other withdrawals outlined

in this paper.

The provision of any special intelligence

cover or communications for individual withdrawals, if necessary,

must be the subject of a recommendation by the local commander.
