families will not be entitled to accompanied service.

d. Where possible families should be allowed to come home with

husbands though it may be necessary in some cases to withdraw

dependants before the head of the family.

are available and cheaper.

Preliminary indications are that peaceful disengagement

will be possible in all areas. Only normal prudent

provision for the security of personnel, dependants and equipment

will be required.

Personnel Factors

6. After the cut-off date for accompanied service, postings

will have to be on an unaccompanied basis, although the

impact of this can be reduced by, for example, extending the

accompanied service of suitable volunteers and not manning

some posts during the withdrawal phase. Educational considerations

may make it advisable to repatriate families with school
