Passage migrant and winter visitor. Numbers very variable with up to 400 occasionally in mid winter but usually no more tha 20.
Curlew Sandpiper.
Calidric ferruginea. Paccage migrant with up to 30 in spring
and cight in autumn. 330 in May 1971 was exceptional.
Sanderling. Crocothia alba. Passage migrant in small numbers but 270 have been
recorded in spring. A few winter records.
Spoon-billed Sandpiper. Eurynorhynchus pyracus.
regular passage migrant in small numbers.
Broad-billed Sandpiper. Linicola falcinellus.
and 30 in autumn.

Avocet. Recurvirostra avosettr. Only three records up to 1966. Has been recorded
every your since with a max of 30 in 1971.
Oriental Pratincole. Glercola maldivarum. Passage migrant in small numbers but
groups of over 150 have been seen three times in autumn.
Saunders' Gull. Laus saundersi. First record of two birds in March 1969.
Recorded annually in spring since then with 40 in February 1972. One winter record of two in December 1972.
White-winged Black Tern. Chlidonias leucoptera. Passage migrant in variable
numbers. Up to 300 have been recorded in spring but no more than 30 in autumn.
Whiskered Tern. Chlidonias hybrida. Passage migrant in variable numbers with 20
in spring and 70 in autumn.
Gull-billed Torn. Gelochelidon nilotica. Passage migrant with 20 in spring and
100 in autumn.
Caspian Tern. Hydroprome caspia. Up to 50 recorded in spring and smaller
numbers in autumn. Occasional records during summer and winter.
Common Tern. Sterna hirundo. Occasional records in autumn with 20 near Lau Fau
San in August 1972.
Black-naped Tern. Sterna sumatrana. In 1966 described as passage migrant with max
numbers 100 in spring and 800 in autumn. No records since 1966.
Little Tern. Sterna albifrons. Passage migrant, usually in smaller numbers but
up to 40 have been recorded in spring.
Greater Crosted Tern. Sterna bergii. One May 1965.
Pied Kingfisher. Coyle rudis. Up to three birds recorded throuhgout the year.
