On 22nd May, 1973, an American male, Leon CUNNINGHAM, 23 years, arrived at Kai Tak Airport from Bangkok. He was searched by officers of the Preventive Service and 0.6 grammes of viable canna- bis seeds were found in his trouser pocket. He was arrested and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs. Ho was convicted and fined $350.00-HK.

On 23rd May, 1973, an American male, Michael RANDOLPH, years, arrived at Kai Tak Airport from Bangkok. He was searched by officers of the Preventive Service and a cigarette packet in his travelling bag was found to contain a quantity of cannabis. A search of his person revealed a further two packets of cannabis, concealed in his socks. The total seizure was 40.2 grammes of cannabis. RANDOLPH was arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Dangerous Drug. He was convicted and fined $1,500.00-HK.

On 15th July, 1973, a man, NG Ki-sing (6702/1142/2052), 57 years, arrived at Kai Tak Airport from Bangkok. He was searched by officers of the Preventive Service and 55 grammes of prepared opium was found on his person. NG was arrested and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs. He was convicted and fined HK$1,000.00.
(16) On 27th July, 1973, a Malaysian male, TAN Khi liong (7115/ 6386/7893), 72 years, arrived at Kai Tak Airport from Kota Kinabalu. He was searched by officers of the Preventive Service and 27.4 grammes of prepared opium was found in his baggage. TAN was arrested and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs. He was convicted and fined HK$800.00.

On 10th August, 1973, a Japanese male, Takujiro FURUHASHI, 20 years, arrived at Kai Tak Airport from Bangkok. He was searched by officers of the Preventive Service and 2.7 grammes of cannabis were found in his travelling bag. He was arrested and charged with Posses- sion of Dangerous Drugs. He was convicted and fined HK$200.00.

On 28th October, 1973, an Indian female, Mukhia-Bimla KUMARI, 29 years, arrived at Kai Tak Airport from Bombay. She was searched by officers of the Preventive Service and inside a false bottom in her suitcase, 4.996 kilogrammes of cannabis resin were found. She was ar- rested and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking. She was convicted and sentenced to 18 months imprisonment.

On 16th November, 1973, a Czechoslovakian male, Lubomir FRYDRYSEK, 23 years, arrived at Kai Tak Airport from Sydney, where he had been refused permission to land by the Australian Government. He was also refused permission to land by the Hong Kong Government but before his departure for Dehli, his luggage was searched by officers of the Preventive Service and 295 grammes of cannabis resin was found inside a false bottom in his suitcase. He was arrested and charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Traf- ficking. He was convicted and sentenced to 4 months imprisonment.

On 28th December, 1973, officers of the Preventive Service boarded the m.v. 'Kota Sahabat', which arrived in Hong Kong from Bangkok. The chief cook of the vessel, Singapore male TOO Seam-chiow (2621/3234/3564), 65 years, was searched and 4 packets of prepared
