Dear Stuart,

As I mentioned to your office on the telephone, Sir Robert Mark has told us that he is content for Chief Superintendent Howell to be inter- viewed by a Board on the lines proposed in your letter of 14 June to Baker. If he is accepted his promotion to Commander will then be announced.

We are letting Scotland Yard know that the Board has been arranged for. Monday 8 July at 11.00 a.m.
