Umelco
thanked for border work
RURAL representatives of Shataukok yesterday thanked Umelco for urging the Government to relax border restrictions. Through the help of Umelco, the Government has agreed to renew special border zone permits for villagers every three years instead of every three months.
Pictured is senior unofficial member of the Executive Council, Sir Albert Rodrigues, accepting a mirror from the representatives on behalf of Umelco. The mirror is painted with Chinese characters, the work of six Shataukok residents.
