He will see developments in the new industrial areas of Kwai
Chung and Tsuen Wan, during which he will visit a large textile factory
complex to see for himself the modern methods used in local industry.
He will fly over the Colony in a helicopter to see some of
Hong Kong's major development projects, including the High Island Water
Scheme, Plover Cove Reservoir and the new industrial towns in the New
Territories.
The Foreign Secretary will be meeting press, radio and television
representatives before he leaves, on February 15, for Seoul on a visit to
the Republic of Korea at the invitation of the Korean Foreign Minister.
Later he will go on to Tokyo for a visit to Japan at the
invitation of Mr. Takeo Fukuda, the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Foreign Secretary and Lady Douglas-Home will arrive at Hong Kong International Airport by chartered flight Danair Services' Comet IV No. GAY WV. The party will be met by His Excellency the Governor, Lady MacLehose, the Aide-de-Camp, the Colonial Secretary, the Director of Civil Aviation and the Airport General Manager. The Consul General of Thailand and Mrs. Guna-Kasem will be presented in the VIP Room.
The Foreign Secretary will meet press, radio and television representatives for a few minutes in the VIP Press Conference Room and will make a brief statement about his visit before leaving for Government House. He is not expected to answer questions at this meeting but photographs will be permitted. Sir Alec will, however, hold a full press conference on Tuesday morning prior to his departure.
