However, the Treasury are not keen that Mr. Rippon should be briefed on this particular subject. They feel it better that he should not discuss the matter at all and that he should plead ignorance if the subject is rasied with him.

3. We have not yet been told the date by which these briefs have to reach Mr. Rippon's Office but I would expect them to be called for by the end of this week.
