2. There are two points dealt with in this record which
require submission to Ministers:
Paragraph. 5 The Governor's attempt to insist that we should
press the EEC to exclude textiles and footwear from their
offer to all beneficiaries;
Paragraph 11 The handling of the preferences which Hong Kong
gives to certain imports from Britain.
I am not quite sure whether these are points for Trade Policy
Department or Hong Kong Department to put to Ministers, but I
should be grateful if Trade Policy Department would either originate submissions on them or ask Hong Kong Department to
do so.
