the briefing meetings.

5. The Hong Kong Government will probably be

sending us an official request for an invitation

to be extended to Mr. Wright to attend these

briefing meetings. It would be beneficial to

our relations with them if the Hong Kong Government

is given every opportunity for obtaining information

about the progress of our negotiations with the

EEC.

I submit that we should ask European

Integration Department to invite the Hong Kong

Government's London representative to briefing

meetings on our negotiations with the EEC.
