Hong Kong Trade Union Registration (Amendment) Bill 1970
A number of letters from Members of Parliament and others criticising the draft Trade Union Registration (Amendment) Bill
have been received by Ministers, and interim replies have been
sent in some cases. I attach draft replies, which have been
agreed with the Overseas Labour Adviser and Legal Adviser,
which Mr. Royle may wish to send to these letters. Details
of the letters received and their replies are as follows:

In the case of Mr. James Johnson, Mr. Royle offered to
provide a draft letter to Mr. England in Hong Kong, setting out the position, and this is also attached.
