Uttering Inflammatory Speech

Possession of Inflammatory Poster (4th Defendant only)

At 19.50 hrs. on 29th July, 1967 a crowd of about 100 young persons held a left wing demonstration outside Block 12, Wang Tau Hum Resettlement Estate. They carried large portrait photographs of Mao Tse Tung, banners and slogans painted on banners. All 5 defendants were observed by Police detectives to mingle amongst the young people and shout slogans "Down with the Hong Kong British", "Imperialists are paper tigers", "If the Hong Kong British do not how their heads they must leave." They also sang songs and took photographs.

After 10 minutes the defendants left together, and boarded a car. Detectives who had been observing from a distance followed in another car and arrested them in Fu Mei Street near Tung Tau Village Road which is a short distance away from the scene of the disturbance. The 4th Defendant •

was also found in possession of a poster on which weze printed characters of an inflammatory nature.
