Territories Fire Chief. This action heartened all the compatriots.

This offence related to the publication in the newspaper on the 5th

August 1967 of an article stating that the anti-suppression struggle would be won and that the British Fascists were in their death throes

and had therefore increased the acts of suppression.

It applauded the

This offence related to the publication by the newspaper on the 4th

August 1967 of an article stating that there had been set up the Kowloon Long Nga Shan Combat Group who would arm themselves and

strike down the Hong Kong British and revenge all the martyrs that the British had killed.

Pleas:

All defendants pleaded not guilty

They were all found guilty on the 29th August 1967. The publication of the newspaper was ordered to be suspended with effect from the 17th August 1967 and suppressed for a period of 6 months with effect from 29th August 1967.

Sentences: 1. The Afternoon News Co Ltd was fined $2,000 on each summous.

2. The Nam Cheong Printing Co Ltd was fined $2,000 on each summons,

was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment on each of

the six charges. The sentences on b,e and f to run consecutively

end the sentences on a, c and d to run concurrently. Total 3 years imprisonment.
